That is not all. The Region is a unique territory for its cultural, natural and landscape heritage, from the Dolomites to the sea, and its world-famous food and wine proposals.

Friuli Venezia Giulia is one of the 65 European regions classified as "Strong Regional Innovators", thanks also to the high number of patent applications submitted and to SMEs that apply innovation to their products, processes, marketing and organisational structure. The Region also has high percentages of people who have a university degree and excels in public and private spending on research, development and innovation. Significant is the high concentration of researchers compared to the population and the presence of foreign students, researchers and teachers.
