The Friuli Venezia Giulia Region supports the development of the Smart Health Technology sector through the financing of public-private co-designs, in the framework of its strategy of smart specialisation, paying particular attention to the issues recognised during an entrepreneurial aggregation process initiated in 2015. This process has involved the identification of the most widespread development trajectories in the region that are related to technologies in the following sectors:
In the first months of 2017, these macro-trajectories were updated through a process of review and sharing between all regional healthcare stakeholders who appear to be constantly growing, especially through the creation of new start-ups and university spin-offs. On this occasion, special attention was paid to the technologies of industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things, which represent “trend technologies” that are common to all four macro-trajectories of the "Smart Health" regional specialisation area.
